IT staffing & AI talent

Found in search. Cited by AI. Called back by priority accounts.

We gave an IT staffing and AI talent firm senior marketing leadership, a rebuilt website, and an engine that pairs search and AI visibility with targeted outreach to the accounts it wanted most.

The challenge

Where they started.

The firm had real depth in cybersecurity, generative AI, and digital transformation talent. Its recruiters knew the market cold. Its website didn't show any of it.

Every buyer got the same generic story, whether they ran IT for a hospital, an insurer, or a university. The site ranked for 67 terms and converted 2% of visitors. When hiring managers asked Google or ChatGPT where to find specialized IT talent, the firm wasn't in the answer.

Sales was doing the heavy lifting alone, prospecting into priority accounts with little marketing behind them. The firm didn't need more activity. It needed a leader, a plan, and an engine that warmed accounts before a recruiter ever picked up the phone.

What we did

The DRIVE method, applied.

  1. Detect

Audited the website, search position, AI answer visibility, and sales follow-up, and profiled 11 regional competitors to see where the openings were.

  2. Rank

Put website and brand first, then vertical authority in healthcare, insurance, and higher education IT, then outreach. Broad campaigns waited.

  3. Inform

Wrote differentiated stories and clear paths for ten audiences, and built a go-to-market plan and account-based brief aimed at 25 to 50 named Northeast accounts.

  4. Validate

Launched the new HubSpot site, then tested nurture emails, sales sequences, and AI answer visibility against it before scaling anything.

  5. Engage

Scaled the content and outreach that worked, tracked rankings and AI citations monthly, and kept routing warm accounts to the sales team.

What we built

One engine, built in layers.

  • Website refresh

Rebuilt on HubSpot CMS with clear paths for ten audiences, so every buyer lands on a story written for them.

  • Search and AI visibility

A 66-piece hub-and-spoke content architecture across three industry verticals, written answer-first so buyers find it in Google and AI tools cite it.

  • Technical SEO cleanup

Fixed technical issues and keyword cannibalization and opened the site to AI crawlers, so the content we published could actually rank.

  • Local optimization

Tuned the firm's local search presence for its home market, so regional hiring managers find a nearby partner first.

  • Hard-to-hire guides

Hiring guides for 79 hard-to-fill roles across 10 job families, turning the firm's recruiting know-how into pages hiring managers search for.

  • Email nurture and sales sequences

Sequences for ten audiences, triggered by buyer intent signals in HubSpot, so reps followed up when accounts were actually in market.

  • Sales enablement

Pre-call briefings, account prioritization scoring, InMail drafting, case study matching, and a hiring intelligence scanner, so every call started informed.

  • Community and thought leadership

A generative AI career community, a podcast, and events that gave the firm a voice in the market it recruits for.

See the work

What buyers actually land on.

Screenshots are cropped to the work: the client's logo, address bar and name are not in frame, because this case study is anonymous.

  • A hiring guide hub page listing 79 hard-to-fill IT roles ranked by hiring difficulty

79 hiring guides across 10 job families, turning recruiting know-how into pages hiring managers search for.

  • A filter row letting visitors browse hiring guides by job family

Browse-by-job-family filtering, so a hiring manager reaches their discipline in one click.

The outcome

Where they are now.

The firm now shows up where its buyers look. Ranking terms grew from 67 to 631. Site conversion more than tripled, from 2% to 6.5%. In Google AI Overviews for its priority topics, the firm went from absent to present in 60% of answers.

Just as important, marketing and sales now run as one motion. Content builds the reputation, intent signals flag the accounts, and sequences and reps follow up while the interest is real. Recruiters now walk into priority accounts that have already read the firm's guides, seen its name, and heard its point of view.
